Herlle Souza Santos

Herlle obtained a degree in Biological Sciences/Ecology from Universidade Veiga de Almeida and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in the Graduate Program in Ecology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Her research is dedicated to identifying the most effective functional attributes of plants for restoring tropical forests. Her ultimate goal is to support restoration projects that can have a positive impact on the environment and society, as well as increase the scale of restoration efforts in tropical forests. Herlle is being supervised by Dr. Renato Crouzeilles and co-supervised by Dr. Mariana Ferreira in the Postgraduate Program in Ecology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has previously collaborated with a research group at IIS-Rio on restoration and carbon sequestration.
