Her work focuses on ecology and biodiversity conservation in fragmented landscapes and on the interface between people and the environment. She participated in the development of the site map for the Brazilian Alliance for Zero Extinction, prioritizing areas for the conservation of severely endangered species, in a partnership among NGOs and the Brazilian Government. Currently, she is a member of the Synthesis in Atlantic Forest Ecology and Sustainability group (SES-MA), doing her PhD in Ecology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she studies patterns of species diversity in Atlantic Forest and its drivers, aiming to provide subsidies for public policy and decision making.
