Amelia Hawkins

Volunteer

Amelia is finishing her Masters of Agricultural Science at the University of Western Australia. Specialising in the use of spatial technologies, Amelia is passionate about the sustainable and equitable management of multifunctional landscapes. With a background in environmental science, she is interested in measuring and managing the social and environmental dimensions of land use change associated with agriculture.

Prior to joining the IIS-AU, she was a visiting researcher for the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) where she researched private sector engagement for biodiversity conservation initiatives in Brazil. She developed a critical understanding of the need for robust indicators and metrics as well as cross-sectoral participation to achieve optimal social and environmental outcomes. At IIS-AU, Amelia is applying her skills and experience to support the development of the WePlan Phase 2.0 project.
